Minhaj Al Azhary: Serving Humanity Through the Spirit of Islam
At Minhaj Al Azhary, we are driven by the teachings of Islam to serve those in need. Inspired by the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him), who said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry” (Sunan al-Kubra, 19049), we recently organized a food donation drive to support underprivileged families in Egypt.
A Duty to Give
In the Qur’an, Allah reminds us of the importance of helping others:
“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], ‘We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.’” (Surah Al-Insan, 76:8-9)
With this divine guidance in our hearts, our team distributed essential food packages to hundreds of struggling families. Each package was thoughtfully prepared to ensure that recipients received the nourishment they need while feeling the love and care of their community.
Spreading Barakah Through Charity
Charity, or sadaqah, is a means of purifying our wealth and earning the pleasure of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him) said, “Charity does not decrease wealth. Rather, it increases it.” (Sahih Muslim, 2588). This initiative allowed us to experience firsthand the blessings that flow when we give for the sake of Allah.
The heartfelt gratitude from families and the joy on the faces of children as they received the food packages were profound reminders of the impact of such efforts. One recipient, Amina, a widow and mother of three, said, “May Allah bless those who have helped us. This food has brought us relief and joy in a time of great difficulty.”
Continuing the Sunnah of Giving
As Muslims, it is our duty to care for the less fortunate and uphold the values of compassion and generosity. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him) said, “The believer is not the one who eats his fill while his neighbor is hungry.” (Musnad Ahmad, 15208). At Minhaj Al Azhary, we are committed to following this Sunnah by continuing to organize initiatives that uplift those in need.
Join Us in Making a Difference
We invite you to be part of this noble mission and gain the rewards promised by Allah:
• Donate: The Qur’an says, “Whatever you spend in the way of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:272). Your contributions allow us to reach more families in need.
• Volunteer: Emulate the example of the Prophet ﷺ (peace be upon him), who served others tirelessly.
• Spread the Word: Help us share this message of compassion and inspire others to give.
A Reminder of Gratitude
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this effort, whether through donations, time, or prayers. As the Prophet ﷺ (peace be upon him) said, “Allah will help His servant as long as His servant helps his brother.” (Sahih Muslim, 2699). Let us continue this journey together, earning Allah’s pleasure and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
May Allah accept our efforts and bless us all with the ability to serve His creation.
